Italy has a reputation for an amazing and varied array of pastries and desserts, everything from the rich creamy ricotta cakes of the South to chocolatey wonders of the North.
The King of Italian desserts ‘Tiramisu’ came to us from Italy and is sometimes called "The Tuscan Trifle" because of its origin in the Tuscany region, but literally means "pick me up". This Italian delight is made from Savoiardi biscuits soaked in coffee with mascarpone, whipped cream and a light dusting of cocoa powder.
