MARCHE

MARCHE

The Marche region on the eastern coast has been known as the home of the “Amphora” shaped Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and a number of producers have made it into a versatile modern classic. The reds have also benefitted from this revolution with Montepulciano and Sangiovese providing well balanced, well priced wines. The Marche is becoming very much a region of experimentation and with its moderate sea-influenced climate and varied landscape should make Marche one of Italy’s most interesting wine regions.

MONTE SCHIAVO
This estate is known primarily for its crisp and fresh Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi wines in Amphora bottles, which have become modern classics, superb with seafood and as an aperitif wine. They also grow Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Lacrima grapes which produce a number of vibrantly fruity red wines.

TOMBACCO
Tombacco has been a family business for generations. It is the archetypal bottler and blender sourcing wines from all over the veneto region and indeed most of Italy. Apart from the classic Veronese wines and excellent Pinot Grigio, owner Cristian Tombacco also sources a great Falanghina IGT Beneventano under the Piantaferro label.

VELENOSI
Cantina Velenosi was establised in 1984, with the purpose of reaching harmony between taste and colour. Combining artisan tradition and modern technology, Ercole and Angela Velenosi, with Paolo Garbini from 2005, have creatively re-interpreted the wine-making process and established a company which today spreads worldwide the scents and colours of the Piceno territory through its unique wines.
